Documents you will usually need
The paperwork most UK universities ask for, and how to keep it organised.
Requirements differ between universities and courses, so always check the specific course page. That said, most applications need some combination of the following.
Academic documents
Transcripts and certificates for your previous study. If they are not in English, a certified translation is normally required.
English language evidence
Where English is not your first language, universities usually accept a recognised test such as IELTS, or in some cases prior study taught in English. Each university sets its own accepted evidence and minimum scores.
Identification
A passport or other accepted identity document.
Supporting statements
A personal statement explaining your motivation, and often one or two references.
Keeping it organised
Upload documents to your HelpMeDegree student area once you have an account. Files are stored privately and only shared with a university when you agree to an application being submitted.
